PRAYER POCKET PLACE: For Heart, Hearth and Hand

 Collaborative Artists: Flossie Peitsch and Ceridwen Suiter – together with many community fabricators.

Media: Mixed assemblage of aluminium, textiles, wicker, with soundscape and audio equipment.

This multi-sensory installation created by visual artist, Flossie Peitsch, and sound artist Ceridwen Suiter, features fabric and sound contributions by many women in workshops over a six month period at various locations along the South Coast.

This collaborative work literally and figuratively represents women in community.

CLARINET CALLING (Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano)

The piece was inspired by a series of long distance telephone conversations over many months. These conversations would run the gamut of cheerful and harmonious to being on quite different tangents on some issues. The music thus contains the underlying ideas of call and response in the melodic fragments. Yet essentially, no matter how much effort and goodwill goes into some conversations, it was impossible to find a continuous point of connection.
